Mission Statement: The Heart to Heart program reaches out to newly diagnosed childhood cancer families, offering support and understanding through compassionate conversation from one parent to the other...heart to heart. The Visits: A small gift basket of comfort items is given to each family diagnosed. Items such as lotion, chapstick, soft Kleenex, snacks, parking passes and a gift shop/cafeteria gift card are included in the basket. The soul of Heart to Heart is the gentle touch of a parent who has emotionally survived their child's diagnosis, learned to live with the treatment and is now coping with life after cancer. |
