|Caring about Kids with Cancer|
Kids 'n Kamp, an independent non-profit organization, is devoted to the social, educational and emotional needs of children with cancer. By providing family activities, tutoring, counseling and support opportunities, the Kids 'n Kamp network touches the lives of more than 400 area children and their families each year.
Kids 'n Kamp began in 1982 when a handful of dedicated volunteers coordinated a weekend summer camp for children with cancer. Over the years, the organization has grown, offering programs throughout the year with a single goal in mind: helping children and their families, whenever and wherever help is needed.
Kids 'n Kamp offers a range of programs and services free of charge to children, teens and young adults throughout Ohio. Many of these children are undergoing chemotherapy and/or radiation treatments for their disease. Group members also include children in remission from cancer who offer hope and encouragement to newly diagnosed children.
In order to provide these free services to families, Kids 'n Kamp relies on the generosity of the general public, local businesses, clubs and corporations. The organization also receives funding from grants, the Corporate Sponsorship Program, memorial gifts and fundraiser events including "Mystery Night," Celebrity Quilt Auction at the 'Shoe, golf outings and more.
Kids 'n Kamp is not affiliated with any other non-profit organization, and is not a United Way Agency.
